The Problem

Young professionals traveling in a group need a way to consolidate vacation plans and create an invigorating itinerary, because users have difficulty finding group activities that everyone is interested in doing whilst on vacation together.

Hypothesis

We believe that providing a single source for researching and planning vacations based on personal interests, for young professionals traveling in a group, we will achieve group vacation planning and traveling with ease, enjoyment and inclusivity.

We will know this to be true when we see users planning a group trip they all find intriguing and using the product during the vacation to follow their itinerary together.

Research Goals

The goal of this user research is to validate assumptions about what group travelers struggle about, and how a product can help assist travelers planning a trip together. I conducted four user interviews for this research.

  • Users research activities based on what looks fun, on the price, and group interest level.

  • Users don’t mind splitting up, but prefer to do things as a group.

  • Users use paper & pen, Google Maps, or a spreadsheet to outline their itinerary.
